Staying Connected During Covid19 and Beyond

I think we’ve all been affected by the safety measures taking place caused by Covid19.

Even if we haven’t personally caught the virus, we have been affected by Social Distancing, Self Quarantine/Stay Home, the Hospitality Industry (restaurants, theaters, parks, entertainment parks), schools and libraries nearly totally shut down, and empty shelves in most stores.

As a side note to the subject of this post, I must say that I’m really surprised by some of the items that stores are having a hard time getting them and to stock shelves.

  1. Toilet Paper
  2. Kleenex
  3. Paper Towels
  4. Soap
  5. Hand Sanitizer and supplies for DIY
  6. Meat
  7. Water, including distilled
  8. Face Masks
  9. Ventilators
  10. Personal Protective Clothing

While most of these items are understandable; Toilet Paper, REALLY?  From what I’ve heard, Covid19 doesn’t cause that kind of problem, if you know what I mean.

But in the last couple of days, I’ve also learned of a few items that really make no sense to me.

  1. Guns
  2. Amo
  3. Gas Cans

OK, enough of my rant, let’s get back on the subject.

With Social Distancing, Isolation and Self Quarantine and the Hospitality Industry shut down, it is very possible for us to feel shut off from our family and friends.

The good news is that there are ways to stay connected with others.

One of the more common ways these days are our mobile devices.  Many of us have smartphones that we can use to call and even share video between us and the person we are talking to, also include tablets in this.

Other popular devices available include Skype, Amazon and Google devices with built-in video screens and computers with video cameras, Facebook Live and Youtube Live.  Of course, you’ll also need internet service for these devices.

There are also programs that you may thinks are too complicated or expensive.  I’m talking about Video Conference and Meeting software such as:

  1. Goto Webinar
  2. Zoom

You may be thinking that these programs and far too expensive and too complicated.

I want to share with you my thoughts and experience with ZOOM (Zoom.com).

Do you know that ZOOM offers a FREE membership?  Yep, they sure do!
